The World Cup matches may be happening at the stadium, but the party is going to be all over Philadelphia.

The biggest place to start is Lemon Hill in East Fairmount Park, home to Philly's official FIFA Fan Festival. Running from June 11 through July 19, the festival is basically a month-plus outdoor celebration built around the tournament. It's free to attend with online registration, which means you don't need a match ticket to be part of the World Cup energy.

And this is not just a big screen in a park.

Lemon Hill is expected to offer giant-screen watch parties, food and drink vendors, live music, DJs, cultural programming, games, sponsor activations, photo ops, a temporary soccer pitch, a family area, and a vendor village. On select non-match days, there will also be ticketed concerts and special events.

In other words, this is the place to go if you want the full festival version of the World Cup. You can show up for the match, stay for the food, wander through the crowd, catch some music, and turn a game into an entire afternoon or night out.

That is really the appeal. Most people are not going to every match at the stadium. Plenty of people are not going to any of them. But Lemon Hill gives everyone a way into the tournament. If you want the biggest crowd, the most energy, and the most "this is happening in Philly" feeling, this is probably your move.

Of course, not everyone wants the giant outdoor festival experience. Some people want a bar, a stool, a good view of the screen, and a room full of people who actually care about every touch.

For serious soccer fans, Lion Sports Bar in Chinatown is one of the city's clearest choices. It bills itself as a soccer-focused spot, with plenty of TVs and a crowd that should know exactly why the 8 a.m. matches matter.

For U.S. supporters, Top Tomato Bar & Pizza near 11th and Sansom is the American Outlaws Philadelphia chapter bar, which makes it the place to go if you want chants, jerseys, and full USMNT energy.

If you want more of a classic soccer-pub feel, keep Fadó Irish Pub, Brauhaus Schmitz, McGillin's Olde Ale House, New Deck Tavern, Dark Horse Pub, and The 700 on your list. Those are the kinds of places where the match can feel like the main event without needing much explanation.

For fans who want something a little closer to the Lemon Hill action, Hilltown Tavern in Fairmount is worth putting on the radar. It's a neighborhood bar with a relaxed, welcoming vibe that puts it squarely in the mix for World Cup watch parties -- close enough to the festival grounds that you could catch the atmosphere at Lemon Hill and wind down the night just a short trip away.

And if you just want an easy sports-bar night, Founding Fathers on South Street is a reliable option for groups, drinks, and plenty of screens.

So pick your vibe. Lemon Hill for the big party. Lion for the soccer crowd. Top Tomato for the U.S. supporters. Hilltown Tavern if you want a neighborhood feel near the festival. A pub if you want something classic. However you watch, the World Cup is giving Philly one more reason to go out.
